PM Modi: Telugu cinema’s popularity rose globally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the 216-foot tall ‘Statue of Equality in Hyderabad. The statue was installed in Hyderabad honoring the 11th-century Hindu saint Ramanujacharya.

On this occasion, Prime Minister, in his long speech, also acknowledged the growing popularity of Telugu cinema across India.

“The popularity of Telugu cinema is not just confined to the places where Telugu is spoken, but it has expanded globally. The creativity of Telugu cinema is spread from the silver screen to the OTT space. It has become a talking point. The preservation of culture and honoring our traditions by the Telugus is an inspiration to all,” PM Modi said.

Now, Telugu films have become trending topics on social media and OTT space. Films like “Pushpa” have collected Rs 100 crore nett in the Hindi market when the pandemic is still underway. No wonder our Prime Minister also acknowledged the popularity of Telugu films.
