Kamal Haasan jokes he’d have assisted Singeetam on Sing Geetham

Kamal Haasan at Sing Geetham event

Veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao has directed “Sing Geetham” at the age of 94, and the film is all set for release on June 11. The pre-release event was held today in Hyderabad, with Kamal Haasan attending as the chief guest.

Kamal Haasan and Singeetam share one of the most celebrated actor-director collaborations in Indian cinema, having worked together on classics such as “Pushpaka Vimanam” and “Amavasya Chandrudu.” Speaking at the event, Kamal said he feels like a co-producer of “Sing Geetham,” even though the film is being produced by Nag Ashwin.

The actor also said that he does not need a special occasion or a film release to express his admiration for Singeetam Srinivasa Rao.

“I have always respected him and paid my respects irrespective of any occasion,” Kamal Haasan remarked.

In a lighter vein, Kamal added that if Nag Ashwin had informed him about the project four months earlier, he would have gladly joined the team as an assistant director alongside the other ADs.

His comments drew applause from the audience and reflected the deep respect and affection he continues to hold for the legendary filmmaker.
