Nara Rohith is gearing up for release of his 20th film, Sundarakanda, directed by debutant Venkatesh Nimmalapudi. The film is set for release on August 27. Speaking at a press conference, Rohith shared insights about this film.
“Actually, my comeback should have been with Sundarakanda. We began script work in 2022. When Venkatesh Nimmalapudi narrated the idea, I was initially doubtful about how audiences would receive it. But after watching Malayalam film Bro Daddy, I felt this concept could work if handled in a similar vein. Venkatesh came with 30 well-written scenes that I loved, and that’s how the project took off. This film will keep audiences smiling throughout. It’s lively, fun, and lighthearted,” said Rohith.
Calling the film a “clean entertainer,” Rohith added, “This is a fresh story for today’s generation. My character has certain limitations, and the fun arises from those complications. It’s about a man still searching for his ideal partner after 30, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. The arc is complex yet entertaining, and I had clarity about it from the very beginning.”
The actor also praised his director: “Venkatesh has translated his vision onto the screen wonderfully. He wrote a unique story and treated it with great sensitivity. He’s a very sensible filmmaker.”
Interestingly, Nara Rohith’s fiancée Siri Lella will be making a cameo appearance in the film. “Her role is short but interesting. I consider her my lucky charm,” he revealed.
