Superstar Mahesh Babu is the king of overseas business. He is the only Telugu star who has the highest number of movies that grossed $1 or $2 million in North America.
His latest film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, however, underperformed in the USA. The film ended its theatrical run last weekend. With the arrival of ‘Vikram’ and ‘Major’, the Mahesh Babu starrer could not add any penny to its kitty.
Sarkaru Vaari Paata’s lifetime gross is $2.34 million. Recent big star movies like ‘Bheemla Nayak’ ($2.43 million) and ‘Pushpa 2’ ($2.47 million) each grossed 100k more than this movie. Mahesh Babu’s film also turned out to be a loss venture for the distributor.
‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ had a decent run in the domestic market. Directed by Parasuram, the entertainer also starred Keerthy Suresh as the heroine.
