The Actress Who Said No to Ram Charan’s Peddi...
Swasika shot into the news after reports surfaced that she rejected a role in Ram Charan’s Peddi.
Many began asking—who is Swasika? She is a Malayalam actress with a career spanning more than 15 years.
Her real name is Pooja Vijay, but she became popular under her screen name Swasika. She is 33 years old.
Swasika began her career in 2009 with the Tamil film Vaigai.
Since then, she has acted in both Tamil and Malayalam films, playing lead and character roles.
In 2012, she even made a brief foray into Telugu cinema with Etu Chusina Nuvve, as the female lead.
With recent films like Vasanthi, Labbar Pandhu, Maaman, and Retro, her popularity surged.
This success landed her the role of Gutti, a tribal girl, in Nithiin’s Thammudu, released in July 2025.

Director Buchi Babu later approached her to play Ram Charan’s mother in Peddi, but she declined.
At just 33, she felt playing mother to the 40-year-old star would not suit her career.
Currently, Swasika is playing a key role in Suriya’s Karuppu, while also working on several Tamil and Malayalam films.
