Jana Gana Mana: Puri Jagannadh to approach a big star
‘Jana Gana Mana’ has regularly been hitting the headlines since Puri Jagannadh had announced this project a couple of years ago. Puri Jagannadh had written the script of ‘Jana Gana Mana’ keeping Mahesh Babu in mind. The patriotic film was also officially announced.
But somehow it didn’t work out. They had earlier worked together in ‘Pokiri’ and ‘Businessman’.
Puri Jagannadh, however, has not given up on this project. In a recent interview, the ‘iSmart Shankar’ director said that it is a dream project. “I will definitely direct ‘Jana Gana Mana’. I have not dropped the plans at all. It will be a Pan-Indian movie as well,” he was quoted saying.
At present, Puri Jagannadh is directing a sports drama featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday. The film is expected to hit the screens next year.
Who will now act in ‘Jana Gana Mana’? The patriotic-themed subject requires an A-list star to anchor the story.
There were reports that he was miffed with Mahesh Babu. The rumors said Puri vowed not to work with the superstar again. But Mahesh Babu in his recent Instagram chat session with fans fondly recalled his association with Puri Jagannadh and even said that he is waiting for Puri to come up with another script.
