Chiranjeevi’s wife Surekha appointed to Yadagirigutta temple board

Surekha Konidela, wife of megastar Chiranjeevi, has been appointed as a member of the newly constituted Yadagirigutta Devasthanams Trust Board by the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Unlike other members of the extended Konidela family, Surekha has largely stayed away from public life and political activities over the years. Her appointment has therefore attracted attention in both political and film circles.
The development is also noteworthy given the political backdrop. Chiranjeevi is no longer active in politics. At the same time, his brother Pawan Kalyan heads the Jana Sena Party, which is part of the BJP-led NDA, while the family has been seen sharing cordial relations with several BJP leaders in recent years.
This is the second significant appointment given to a member of the Konidela family by the Telangana Congress government. Last year, Ram Charan’s wife and entrepreneur Upasana Konidela was appointed Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Telangana Sports Hub initiative.
With Surekha Konidela now joining the Yadagirigutta Devasthanams Trust Board, the back-to-back appointments have sparked political discussion about the Telangana government’s outreach to the Chiranjeevi family.
