Singer Chinmayi Sripaada says trolls targeted her family

Singer and voice actor Chinmayi Sripaada has once again spoken out against online harassment, revealing that the abuse directed at her family became so severe that her husband, filmmaker Rahul Ravindran, decided to leave X.
In a seven-minute video shared on her account, Chinmayi discussed issues such as rape culture, misogyny, consent, and the persistent online abuse she says she has faced over the years for supporting survivors of sexual assault.
According to Chinmayi, the trolling escalated to an alarming level, with anonymous users allegedly posting abusive messages and even wishing death upon her three-year-old children. She said the constant harassment eventually prompted Rahul Ravindran to quit the social media platform.
The singer also spoke about what she described as the “rape culture pyramid,” explaining that sexual violence does not emerge in isolation but is often preceded by seemingly normalized behavior such as sexist remarks, misogynistic jokes, abusive memes, and revenge porn.
