Dhurandhar fails to make impressive debut in Japan

After rewriting box office records in India and North America, Bollywood blockbuster “Dhurandhar” made its theatrical debut in Japan on July 10. However, the film failed to replicate its phenomenal success, opening to a disappointing response.
Despite the buzz surrounding its release, the spy thriller could not secure a place among the top 25 films at the Japanese box office on its opening day. Early box office estimates indicate that the film registered a weak start.
Released on around 80 screens across Japan by the end of the day, Dhurandhar reportedly attracted fewer than 900 admissions on its first day, reflecting a poor turnout.
“Dhurandhar” starred Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy. The film was directed by Aditya Dhar.
