Fans have been fighting online over various reports about how much money films like “Pushpa 2,” “Devara,” and “Game Changer” received for North Indian distribution rights. While one report claimed that the rights to “Pushpa 2” were sold for Rs 200 crore, other reports mentioned huge numbers for other films, including “Devara” and “Game Changer” as well.
But what’s the truth?
To put it simply, this all-number game is any attempt to generate hype around the projects, with only a group of media and fans making noise on social media.
The reality is that all films, including “Pushpa 2,” “Devara,” and “Game Changer,” have found Hindi partners in Anil Thadani, Karan Joharand, and the Zee Group, but none of them have closed a deal for a large sum.
Mythri Movie Makers will also release “Pushpa 2” with the AA group on a commission basis. However, the Hindi business of the film is “valued” at around Rs 200 crore. In truth, it is still a commission-based business.
“Devara” will be released by Anil Thadani’s AA group and Karan Johar. Karan Johar has officially signed on as a presenter for this film.
Zee Group will handle the Hindi marketing of “Game Changer” because the group is co-producing the film with Dil Raju. The AA group is likely to distribute.
Final word: all these films are “valued” at different prices. “Valued” is different “buying/selling” is different. There is a huge demand for “Pushpa 2” because of its brand value and the massive success of first part in the Hindi belt.
NTR and Ram Charan have become global stars after “RRR” and NTR is already debuting in Hindi with “War 2”, so naturally their films are also getting big hype. For “Devara” Karan Johar being on board as a presenter is another plus point. “Game Changer” will also close something like that once the film’s release plans are fixed.
