Weekend BO: Dull collection, but KVV gets an edge

Every weekend multiple movies are hitting the theaters. Last weekend, too, saw multiple new releases and a re-release. Among them, ‘Krishna Vrinda Vihari’ had a better collection. Naga Shaurya starrer started on a dull note, but the film picked up collections on the Second day and posted decent numbers.

To consider it an average grosser, the film needs to perform during the weekdays. As of now, it had a decent start.

Sree Vishnu’s ‘Alluri’ saw financial problems and could not release properly. The morning shows in AP and Telangana and the premiere shows in the USA suffered. The film could not get better reviews either. So, it turned out to be a flop.

Suresh Productions’s Sri Simha Koduri starrer ‘Dongalunnaru Jaagratha’ was a disaster. Suresh Productions and Guru Films are releasing these movies (‘Saakini Daakini’ and ‘Dongalunnaru Jaagratha’) only to fulfill the conditions laid by OTT platforms. The makers sold the films to OTT companies for a profit. The streaming giants want the film to be released in theaters with good publicity. But Suresh Productions doesn’t do publicity. So, the films are turning out to be duds.

On the other hand, ‘Chennakesava Reddy’ starring Nandamuri Balakrishna was released again in select theaters in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and 36 locations in the USA. The film is a smash hit in its second release. In the USA, it collected $48k.
