Bhagyashri Borse: Hyderabad feels like home, Lenin has changed my career

The success of “Lenin” has given Bhagyashri Borse more than just a box-office hit. It has earned her widespread appreciation for her portrayal of Bharati, a character that audiences have embraced wholeheartedly. Overwhelmed by the response, the actress says the affection she has received from Telugu moviegoers is something she will treasure for the rest of her life.

Speaking to the media after the film’s successful run, Bhagyashri said she is deeply moved by the appreciation coming her way.

“The response has been overwhelming. Every day I receive messages from people appreciating the film and my performance. It is incredibly satisfying to know that the audience connected with Bharati,” she said.

She admitted that “Lenin” has been a particularly emotional project because the team strongly believed in the story from the beginning.

“We work on every film with passion, but Lenin was different. We were convinced we had a beautiful story to tell. When that belief turns into success, the happiness is indescribable.”

Telugu audiences made me feel at home

Bhagyashri said she never expected Telugu audiences to welcome her with so much warmth.

“From the beginning of my career, people here have treated me like a Telugu girl. I consider myself fortunate to receive so much love and acceptance. Their affection means everything to me.”

The actress also explained why Hyderabad has become so special in her life.

“My journey as an actress began with Telugu cinema. Hyderabad gave me my first opportunity, and the audience here embraced me with open arms. I genuinely feel at home here and want to continue working in this industry for a long time.”

Dreaming of Rajamouli and strong female-led films

Looking ahead, Bhagyashri hopes to take on larger-than-life characters.

“I would love to play queens and princesses in grand period dramas. Rajamouli sir is a master at creating such worlds, and working with him is one of my biggest dreams.”

She also expressed interest in headlining female-oriented films, citing Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram as an inspiration.

“After watching Maa Inti Bangaram, I was amazed. Samantha delivered a remarkable performance and showed actresses like us that female-led films can be powerful. If I get a strong script like that, I would love to do it.”

On the work front, Bhagyashri is currently shooting for “Seyon” alongside Sivakarthikeyan. She revealed that a few more projects are in the pipeline and that she is actively listening to Telugu scripts.

“If I come across a role that truly excites me, I will definitely do another Telugu film. This industry has given me so much, and I want to continue being part of it.”
