Raj Tarun’s ‘Kittu Unnadu Jagratha’ is set to hit the screens on March 3. In this interview, he talks about what made him accept the film, working with the ‘Dongata’ director, and more.
Speaking recently, you have said that only Vamsi Krishna could have dealt with a complex script like this. Please elaborate.
Once we had Srikanth’s story in hand, we knew it’s not that easy to screenplay it. When we thought through about the director, Vamsi Krishna came to our mind. This story has a lot of range. Our director has a nice grip of handling the shots.
You are one of the few potential star actors in the industry who has made wise choices. What made you accept the film? How much of your love for pets has influenced your decision?
It didn’t take me five minutes to fall in love with the character. Not just me, everybody who has worked on the movie loved it totally. Arbaaz Khan (Salman Khan’s brother) gave the nod immediately. ‘Kittu Unnadu Jagratha’ is full-on entertainment from beginning till end.
I love pets. All the dogs which have acted in the movie are trained. The director knows how to make them act, which is why we could see through the schedules.
There are quite a few other feathers in the cap of your movie. There are a bevy of comedians and senior artistes, besides Anup Rubens’ music.
Yes. It was a great experience working with Anu Emmanuel. Each character has a purpose. The songs are another major plus. I met Anup Rubens after ‘Uyyala Jampala’ and have since wished to do a film music-directed by him.
The dialogues are very concise and substantial. Sai Madhav Burra garu has written our movie while working on two big movies (‘Khaidi No. 150’ and ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’). This makes it all the more special.
