Speculation has been rife on social media that director Buchi Babu may team up with Mahesh Babu for his next project. During a press meet held today, the director was asked about reports suggesting that he would helm a mythological film starring the superstar.
Responding to the question, Buchi Babu said that such decisions would ultimately be taken by the producers and that time would determine what his next project would be. While he did not confirm anything, he also stopped short of dismissing the ongoing speculation.
Buchi Babu’s latest film, “Peddi,” starring Ram Charan, received mixed reviews and delivered a mixed performance at the box office. Despite the outcome, the director continues to be among the most talked-about filmmakers.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is currently busy with director Rajamouli’s ambitious globe-trotting adventure, “Varanasi.” The film is slated for release in April 2027 and is expected to be one of the biggest Indian releases in recent years. Given Rajamouli’s remarkable track record, expectations are sky-high among fans and trade circles alike.
With “Varanasi” still a long way from release, industry watchers are eager to know which projects Mahesh Babu will line up next, making the Buchi Babu speculation all the more intriguing.
