Rasha Thadani, daughter of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, is all set to make her Telugu debut with ‘Srinivasa Mangapuram’, directed by Ajay Bhupathi. She stars opposite debutant Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni, nephew of Mahesh Babu. The film arrives in theaters this July 30.
Speaking about the film and her experience, Rasha said she immediately connected with the story when Ajay Bhupathi narrated it.
“The way Ajay Bhupathi sir narrated the story and shaped the characters, love, and emotions impressed me immensely. It’s a beautiful story. My character has two shades. On one hand, she’s bubbly and full of excitement, while on the other, she’s graceful, composed, and dignified.”
‘Ajay Bhupathi Helped Me with Every Dialogue’
Rasha admitted that while she can understand Telugu to an extent, speaking it fluently remains a challenge.
“I understand Telugu, but I can’t speak it confidently yet. For this film, Ajay Bhupathi sir personally helped me with every dialogue and explained the emotions behind each scene. He took great care throughout the process. My character, Manga, is very close to my personality. Initially, understanding the dialogues was a bit difficult, but I gradually became comfortable.”
‘Jayakrishna Is a Sweet and Cool Person’
Sharing her experience of working with her co-star Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni, Rasha had nothing but praise.
“Jayakrishna is a very sweet and cool person. We had a lot of fun on the sets, and the shooting experience was thoroughly enjoyable.”
‘I Always Wanted to Work in Telugu Cinema’
Rasha revealed that acting in Telugu films had always been her dream and that ‘Baahubali’ played a major role in inspiring her.
“I love Telugu cinema. ‘Baahubali’ is one of my favorite films. Telugu cinema is incredibly advanced, and every film introduces audiences to a new world. I’ve wanted to be part of this industry for a long time.”
She also shared that her mother, Raveena Tandon, encouraged her to explore Telugu films.
“My mother always told me that the Telugu film industry has a very healthy and positive working environment. She said shooting here is a lot of fun and advised me to learn Telugu. I’m trying my best to learn the language, just as she suggested.”
