50% cap in theaters in Telangana from this week!

Multiplex screens

The government of Telangana is planning to impose restrictions on occupancy in theaters in the coming week. The proposal to put a 50% occupancy rule has been submitted to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao by health department officials.

CM KCR will announce his decision in the coming two or three days. The turnout of audiences to the theaters has already gone down. The footfalls at all screens (single screens and multiplexes) are at the lowest ever. However, small-budgeted movies want to get screened in the coming weeks. So, the government is set to impose occupancy restrictions.

Some state governments in India have ordered to shut the theaters until next month. But the Telangana government is in favor of certain restrictions, not the lockdown.
