It is no secret that Rajamouli’s ambition is to adapt Mahabharat for the screen and direct it in multiple parts. He has previously revealed that it is his dream project, and all the films he has directed so far are stepping stones toward achieving that dream.
But even before that, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is set to begin work on his long-held dream project – “Mahabharat.” Currently, Aamir Khan is promoting “Sitaare Zameen Par”, set for release on June 20.
From October, he will begin working on Rajkumar Hirani’s Phalke biopic. After its completion, he will move on to Mahabharat. He has even hinted that it might be his final film, as it will be a long process. He is not worried about Rajamouli’s similar plans. Both are set to make films on the Indian epic according to their own vision.
Rajamouli is currently working on a globe-trotting adventure #SSMB29, which is expected to be completed by 2027. Following this, he is likely to take up another massive project, possibly with a global scale and appeal. Only after that will he begin work on his dream project, Mahabharat, which is tentatively expected to commence around 2030.
