Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar calls Vijay’s rise to CM ‘destiny’

Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar recently met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and shared pictures from the meeting on Instagram.

Varalaxmi, who worked with Vijay in A.R. Murugadoss’ Sarkar, recalled that she had sensed during the film’s shoot that politics was his true calling. She revealed that the two even laughed about that old conversation when they met recently.

Sharing the photos, Varalaxmi wrote, “Thalapathy… I wondered what to write for this post, but then I realized so much has already been said. I just want to say one thing. People may say a hundred different things, but at the end of the day, C. Joseph Vijay is our Chief Minister, and he’s here to stay.”

She also praised Vijay’s political achievement, saying that becoming Chief Minister in his very first electoral attempt was no ordinary feat. Expressing confidence in his leadership, she wished him success in serving the people of Tamil Nadu.

Varalaxmi played one of the key antagonists opposite Vijay in Sarkar, and the duo has shared a cordial relationship since working together on the film.
