Several Telugu film celebrities, including actress Ananya Nagalla, are under investigation for promoting betting apps. An FIR named her after a Mayapur businessman filed a case against celebrities promoting apps that engage in unlawful betting.
Responding to the controversy, Ananya Nagalla questioned the Hyderabad Metro’s role in displaying betting app advertisements.
“If a public asset like the Metro is promoting betting apps, how are we supposed to know it’s illegal?” she asked in a post on her Instagram.
While she has a point in her question, it doesn’t make her innocent. Her team or lawyers should have informed her.
Ananya Nagalla has acted in many films and has become popular in recent times. She played roles in films like “Vakeel Saab.”
