Ashu Reddy moves High Court to quash cheating case

Actress Ashu Reddy, whose real name is Koyya Ashwini Reddy, has approached the Telangana High Court seeking to quash a cheating case registered against her.
The case was filed by an NRI, Y. Dharmendra, who has accused her of allegedly taking over Rs 9 crore from him over time on the promise of marriage. Based on his complaint, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered last week.
In her petition, Ashu Reddy has challenged the FIR, stating that it was filed without recording her version of events or giving her an opportunity to respond before initiating legal action. She has requested the court to dismiss the case on these grounds.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that her father, who does not reside with her and her mother, has acknowledged that financial transactions did take place between Ashu Reddy and the complainant. However, the legal dispute is now under consideration.
The matter is currently before the Telangana High Court, and further proceedings are awaited. Her petition may come before the judges in two or three days.
