Superstar Rajinikanth bounced back with “Jailer,” which turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. Before that, many of his movies had received low box office receipts. However, with “Jailer,” he discovered a new formula, and audiences began to adore him in his new avatar. He continued the same look for his upcoming release, “Vettaiyan.”
“Vettaiyan” is releasing in Telugu and Hindi with the same Tamil title. Although the film features some pan-Indian stars like legendary Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati in key roles, the main draw in any language is Rajinikanth.
Due to Rajinikanth’s ill health, the makers could not focus on aggressive promotions. Still, the film has managed to get strong advance bookings in Tamil Nadu. It needs to pick up momentum in Telugu and Hindi.
Directed by Gnanavel of “Jai Bhim,” the film deals about illegal encounters and education system. If the film receives positive feedback, it has the potential to become another big success like “Jailer.”
