The makers of “Band Melam” have postponed the film’s theatrical release. The movie, which was initially scheduled to hit theaters on March 13, will now arrive on March 26.
The team had been actively promoting the film for several weeks, aiming for a March 13 release. However, just four days before the planned date, the makers decided to push the release.
According to sources, the last-minute postponement was mainly due to the current dull phase at the box office. With several recent films struggling to attract strong openings, the team felt it would be better to release the film later.
Another factor is the release of two major films – “Dhurandhar 2” and “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” – which are scheduled to hit theaters on March 19. The makers believe releasing “Band Melam” a week after these big films could work better.
“Band Melam” stars Harsh Roshan and Sridevi Appala as the teenage lead pair. The duo previously acted together in the hit film “Court”, and the team is hoping to recreate the same magic at the box office. The film is being presented by Kona Venkat, who has also been actively leading the promotional campaign.
