Bobby Kolli says ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ does not go overboard

Director Bobby

After directing the hit “Waltair Veerayya” with megastar Chiranjeevi, filmmaker Bobby Kolli was given the opportunity to direct another senior star, Nandamuri Balakrishna. “Daaku Maharaaj” is Bobby Kolli’s first film with Balakrishna. The director claims the film features honest storytelling.

“Daaku Maharaaj tells the story of Sitaram’s metamorphosis into Daaku Maharaaj. Balakrishna plays Sitaram. Experience the magic of Sitaram turning into Daaku Maharaaj in theaters,” stated Bobby.

In general, Balakrishna’s films feature high-octane action and over-the-top sequences. However, ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ halts the tendency.

“We made a technically advanced film while emphasizing subtle filmmaking and honest storytelling. Balakrishna’s recent performances have tended to be boisterous. In this film, we attempted a much more nuanced portrayal. Personally, I admire his performance in Simha, particularly the doctor role, which was subtle yet impactful. My goal was to present him in the same constrained style, and I believe I succeeded. We kept the storytelling rooted in reality,” he added.

He praised producer Naga Vamsi, saying he allowed him complete creative control over the story’s canvas. “Naga Vamsi is a producer who is truly committed to delivering a superior film, particularly with Nandamuri Balakrishna. He made no compromises on technological aspects. As a result, the film’s visuals are grand,” he stated.

Bobby Kolli also stated that he learned discipline from Nandamuri Balakrishna.
