Can ‘Pushpa 2: Reloaded’ beat ‘Devara’ on Netflix?
The much-awaited “Pushpa 2: The Rule” debuted on Netflix yesterday and received a massive initial response. The analysts predict it will set a new record in terms of impressions in the first week.
However, the film received mixed reviews online as well, with many slamming predictable sequences and lack of strong story. Despite these mixed reviews, “Pushpa 2” has generated significant discussion on social media.
Unlike the theatrical version, this OTT film includes a ‘Reloaded Version’ with additional content, available in multiple Indian languages, further enhancing its appeal.
But the film needs to beat the records of NTR’s “Devara”.
Top viewership
In 2024, the Telugu film “Devara,” starring NTR, has achieved significant success on Netflix India, trending for 11 consecutive weeks in the top 10 list. This performance ranks it among the year’s top trending movies, following “Animal” (17 weeks), “Laapataa Ladies” (14 weeks), and “Maharaja” (12 weeks).
Whether “Pushpa 2” will surpass “Devara” on Netflix is still up for debate.
