Chiranjeevi blasts media for claiming he survived cancer

Chiranjeevi dismissed media reports that he had overcome cancer. On Saturday evening, news channels and websites stated that Chiranjeevi had lately been cured of cancer. However, Chiranjeevi stated on social media that the media misinterpreted his remarks during the opening of the Cancer Center in Hyderabad.

“By emphasizing the need of early screening, I stated that cancer can be avoided if we have frequent medical exams. I provided an example of how I went through a screening. I explained that during a colonoscopy, non-cancerous polyps were discovered and removed. I would have had cancer if I hadn’t had early screening. This is what I said at the hospital’s inauguration,” Chiranjeevi clarified.

He went on to say that without understanding his comments, television networks and websites began spreading false information to the public.

“This has created unneeded confusion,” he said. “Messages from well-wishers poured in.”

“My sincere request to the media is that they not write news without first thoroughly researching the subject,” he advised.
