Naga Babu Konidela, younger brother of Megastar Chiranjeevi, took oath today as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) in Andhra Pradesh. He is the latest member of the Konidela family to enter the state’s legislative bodies, following his younger brother, Pawan Kalyan, who currently serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Chiranjeevi, too, had previously held political office, serving as an MLA in the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh and later as the Union Minister for Tourism.
With Naga Babu’s swearing-in, all three brothers—Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, and Naga Babu—have now been part of the state’s legislative framework.
After taking oath, Naga Babu first met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu to express his gratitude. Chiranjeevi and his wife, Surekha congratulated and blessed Naga Babu, presenting him with a Montblanc pen—a gesture of encouragement and tradition.
Notably, Chiranjeevi and Surekha had gifted a similar pen to Pawan Kalyan when he took oath as Deputy Chief Minister, making it a special family tradition to mark political milestones.
