The City Civil Court, Hyderabad, has granted an ad-interim injunction in favour of Megastar Chiranjeevi, protecting his personality and publicity rights. The order restrains individuals and entities from using his name, image, voice, or any other identifiable attribute without authorisation.

Chiranjeevi approached the court after noticing widespread misuse of his identity through unauthorised merchandise, memes, and even AI-generated content. Recognising him as one of India’s most iconic film personalities, the court observed that such unauthorised use could cause irreparable damage to his reputation and economic interests.

The order strictly bars over 30 defendants, including unnamed (John Doe) parties, from exploiting Chiranjeevi’s persona or stage titles such as “Mega Star,” “Chiru,” and “Annayya” for any commercial or promotional purposes.

Violations could invite both civil and criminal action.

On the work front, Chiranjeevi is currently busy filming for Anil Ravipudi’s “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.”
