Yesterday, Nithiin’s “Robinhood” and “Mad Square” hit the theaters, and while both films took good openings and received mixed reviews, it is the latter that had a better edge at the ticket windows. “Mad Square,” a sequel to the super hit movie “MAD,” benefited from the success of its predecessor and opened to nearly housefull crowds.
On the first day, the film collected Rs 5 Cr opening in Telugu states, which is huge for a movie of this range. Additionally, it collected nearly a quarter million dollars (Rs 2 Cr gross) in the USA on day 1. The worldwide gross for “Mad Square” on the first day is massive.
“Mad Square,” directed by Kalyan Shankar and produced by Suryadevara Harika under the Sithara Entertainments banner, received strictly average reviews from critics. The critic on our website noted that only a few jokes were well-received, with the rest largely appearing forced. Despite this, the film became the first choice for the young crowd this weekend.
Nithiin’s “Robinhood” took in decent openings on the first day, but it has uphill task as it faces not-so-encouraging talk. It needs to pick up the momentum over this festive weekend.

“L2 Empuraan” had the best start in the Telugu states on the first day, but due to the arrival of two Telugu movies on the second day, it could not maintain the same collection.
