Oo Antava Mama became a nationwide sensation when it was released three years ago as part of the film Pushpa. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), the catchy item number quickly went viral and earned massive popularity across India.
Recently, a Turkish pop singer, Atiye, released a song titled Anlayana, which DSP claims is a blatant copy of Oo Antava. The tune and music arrangement of the Turkish track closely resemble DSP’s original composition.
Expressing disappointment over the unauthorized usage and lack of credit, DSP is reportedly considering legal action against the Turkish singer.
Interestingly, while DSP contemplates legal steps, many fans are celebrating the fact that a Telugu song has gained such global reach that it’s now being imitated internationally. For decades, Indian composers—especially in the Telugu industry—were often accused of borrowing from Western music.
Now, with global artists seemingly copying Telugu hits, it reflects the growing international influence of composers like Devi Sri Prasad.
