First look of Richard Rishi’s ‘Draupathi 2’ unveiled
Actor Richard Rishi is all set to return with the much-anticipated sequel to the 2020 Tamil hit Draupathi. Titled Draupathi 2, the film is being mounted on a grand scale by Netaji Productions in association with Chola Chakravarthy and produced by G.M. Film Corporation. Directed by Mohan G, known for Pazhaya Vannarapettai, Draupathi, Rudra Thandavam, and Bagasuran, the historical action drama promises to be an epic cinematic experience.
On the auspicious occasion of Sri Vinayaka Chavithi, the makers released the first-look poster, setting the stage for a grand theatrical release later this year in both Tamil and Telugu.
Set in the 14th century, the story traces the blood-soaked reign of Hoysala emperor Veera Vallalar III, who ruled from Thiruvannamalai, and highlights the bravery of the Kadavaraya kings of Sendhamangalam against the backdrop of the Mughal invasion of Tamil Nadu.
The film has already completed 75% of its shoot in Mumbai, with additional key sequences filmed in Senji, Thiruvannamalai, and Kerala.
The film boasts strong technical backing, with music by Ghibran. The historical drama is set to hit theatres in Tamil and Telugu later this year.
