The first look of ‘Shaakuntalam’ was unveiled today. The film stars Samantha in the titular character. Being directed by Gunasekhar, the mythological fantasy film has generated a lot of interest.
It is mounted on a large scale and will be released in five languages. The film wrapped its shooting part last year itself. Currently, the post-production work is in progress
Mani Sharma is scoring the music. The film is expected to release in the second half of 2022.
Samantha plays the role of Shakuntala. The film is based on Kalidasa’s play ‘Abhijnanashakuntalam’. The play is based on a short story from Mahabharata.
