The Telangana government has announced the winners of the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards for 2024, an initiative instituted to honor outstanding contributions to Telugu cinema. Leading the honors this year is Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas, which was awarded Best Film. Director Nag Ashwin also took home the Best Director award.
The awards were finalized by a jury committee led by veteran actress and politician Jayasudha, who submitted the final report to the government. The Second-Best Film award went to “Pottel,” while “Lucky Bhasker” was named Third Best Film.
Interestingly, Allu Arjun won the Best Actor for his role as Pushpa Raj in “Pushpa 2.” The same Telangana government headed by CM Revanth Reddy arrested him in a case related to stampede at “Pushpa 2” theater. Nivetha Thomas received the Best Actress award for her compelling performance in “35 Chinna Katha Kaadu.”
The Gaddar Telangana Film Awards (GTFA) are named in honor of the late revolutionary balladeer Gaddar.
