GlobeTrotter theme poster hints at African adventure

GlobeTrotter

A lot has already been written and speculated about the story of SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated film “GlobeTrotter,” starring Mahesh Babu. With the release of its theme poster and the first song yesterday, a clearer picture of the film’s world is beginning to emerge.

The poster strongly suggests that “GlobeTrotter” draws inspiration from the adventure novels of Wilbur Smith, particularly those set in Africa. The vast landscapes, the deep sunset hues, and Mahesh Babu’s commanding stance against the backdrop of the Kenyan national forest point to an expansive narrative that spans continents.

This grand-scale adventure thriller appears to follow the journey of a man who travels across diverse terrains, from dense African wilderness to bustling world capitals, making it a true “globetrotting” experience. The African theme, vividly reflected in the poster’s earthy tones and wildlife-inspired imagery, instantly reminds viewers of Hollywood classics like “The Lion King,” “The Ghost and the Darkness,” and “Out of Africa.”

Rajamouli, known for his spectacular world-building and emotional storytelling, seems to be venturing into a completely new territory this time. While his earlier epics like Baahubali and RRR were rooted in Indian mythology and history, “GlobeTrotter” appears to be a survival adventure that combines raw emotion with grand spectacle.

The theme song, composed by MM Keeravani, has already struck a chord with listeners, offering a sense of vastness and rhythm that fits perfectly with the film’s adventurous tone. Shruti Haasan has lent her voice to the track, adding a haunting allure to the visuals.

Produced by KL Narayana under Durga Arts, GlobeTrotter marks Mahesh Babu’s first collaboration with SS Rajamouli. The film has Priyanka Chopra playing the female lead.
