Godari Gattupaina, starring Sumanth Prabhas in the lead role, is emerging as a better performer at the box office compared to the other recent releases.
In recent weeks, it has become increasingly difficult for small-budget and mid-range films to attract audiences to theatres, with even securing decent openings turning into a challenge. Despite the tough market conditions, “Godari Gattupaina” has managed to register encouraging collections on Saturday. The film has also reportedly added screens in certain areas across the Telugu states due to positive response.
Directed by Subash Chandra, the film is set against the backdrop of the Godavari region. While it follows a familiar love-story template, the movie has gained appreciation for its pleasant visuals, catchy songs, and light-hearted humor.
Critics pointed out issues related to runtime and predictability, but the film is still performing better than most of the new releases currently in theatres.
The movie also features Nidhi Pradeep, Jagapathi Babu, and Sudarshan in key roles.
Meanwhile, producer Abhinav Rao received personal good news as well, as he was blessed with a baby girl a day after the film’s release.
