Director Sailesh Kolanu is displeased with recent media reports about his upcoming film, HIT 3, starring Nani as a police officer. As the third installment in the “HIT” franchise, the film is highly anticipated, with Kolanu having directed all previous entries in the series.
Recently, a media outlet leaked information suggesting that a prominent actor from another language industry is playing a key role in “HIT 3” and could potentially carry the story forward into a fourth installment. Social media quickly speculated that the actor in question might be Karthi or Dulquer Salmaan.
The filmmakers had intended to keep this casting choice a surprise to enhance audience excitement. However, such speculative reports, Kolanu argued, diminish the thrill of the viewing experience.
Frustrated by these leaks, he took to Twitter to call out the media and certain journalists for revealing crucial details about a film still in production.
Kolanu hopes for better journalism

He slammed it by writing: “It’s sad to see the plight of the media scenario today, some of whom don’t think even for a second before leaking details about the kind of moments that are meant to be enjoyed while watching the movie in the theatres only. While the nature of job to report first is understandable, it boils down to the values and ethics of individual journalists and media houses to assess if it’s right or wrong to report the findings.”

He further added, “I only wish this certain bunch of people had that kind of class. This kind of reporting is not just stealing a film crew’s hard work; it’s equivalent to stealing directly from the audience.”
“HIT 3” is set for release on May 1, 2025.
