Hombale Films teases Prabhas – Neel’s Salaar 2

“Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, released in theatres on December 22, 2023. As the film completed two years since its release, the production house officially shared an update regarding “Salaar 2,” much to the excitement of fans.

Hombale Films confirmed that the sequel is very much on, though no details were revealed about the commencement of shooting. Considering Prabhas’ packed lineup of ongoing projects and the fact that Prashanth Neel is currently busy directing NTR’s “Dragon,” industry sources suggest that Salaar 2 is unlikely to go on floors before 2027.

Sharing the update, Hombale Films posted: “2 years ago, a storm was unleashed. The world witnessed #Salaar in full fury. Fuelled by your love, the journey marches on… The next chapter unfolds with Shouryaanga Parvam. #Salaar2.”

In Salaar, Prabhas played the formidable Deva, while Prithviraj Sukumaran appeared as his rival Varadha, with the story revolving around themes of power, loyalty, and betrayal set in the dystopian city of Khansaar. Shruti Haasan played a key role in the film. The movie went on to become one of the biggest hits of Prabhas’ career.

With the sequel officially confirmed, anticipation around “Salaar 2” is only expected to grow, even if the wait turns out to be a long one.
