Is slimming the reason behind Spirit’s delay?

Prabhas and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced their collaboration on “Spirit,” a cop drama, quite some time ago. However, the project has faced repeated delays, with even the formal launch yet to take place.

While it’s not unusual for Prabhas’s films to take years in the making, “Spirit” seems to be stuck at the starting line. Fresh reports from Bollywood suggest that the delay is due to Prabhas’s personal preparations. The star reportedly wants to shed significant weight before stepping into the role. Only after achieving the desired transformation is he expected to give the go-ahead for filming.

In Spirit, Prabhas will be seen as a police officer, with Tripti Dimri playing the female lead. Harshavardhan Rameshwar, who impressed with his work in “Animal,” is on board as the music composer.

As of now, “Spirit” is expected to go on floors in January 2026, with a planned release sometime in 2027.
