After much speculation and a flurry of names doing the rounds on social media, the makers of “Spirit” have made a surprise announcement. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga officially revealed today that Tripti Dimri has been cast as the female lead opposite Prabhas.
Taking to social media, Vanga wrote: “The female lead for my film is now official.”
Initially, Deepika Padukone was in talks for the role. However, due to a fallout between her and the director over remuneration and certain demands, the collaboration didn’t materialize. Subsequently, names like Shraddha Kapoor were considered before the team finalized Tripti Dimri.
Tripti, who garnered widespread attention with her impactful yet brief role in Vanga’s blockbuster Animal, now lands a major break as the lead actress in “Spirit.” The film features Prabhas in the role of a cop, and shooting is set to commence soon.
