Jailer 2 may shift from June to August release?

Rajinikanth was last seen in “Coolie,” which hit screens in August 2025. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film emerged as a major commercial success, grossing over Rs 500 crore worldwide.

Meanwhile, expectations are high for “Jailer 2,” the sequel to the blockbuster “Jailer.” Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film was earlier announced for release on June 12. However, the latest buzz in industry circles suggests that the makers are reconsidering the date.

Reports indicate that June 12 may not be an ideal window for a pan-Indian biggie of this scale. As a result, the team is said to be planning a shift to August, the same month that worked well for “Coolie.”

Rajinikanth has reportedly completed his portions. Featuring much of the original cast along with some new additions, “Jailer 2” also has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. An official confirmation regarding the release date is awaited.
