Legendary actor Kamal Haasan has decided to swap luxury travel for a simpler approach while shooting for “Kalki 2”.

The veteran actor, who earlier frequently used chartered flights and business-class travel for film shoots, has now started commuting between Chennai and Hyderabad on regular commercial flights, and that too in economy class.

During the shooting of “Kalki 2898 AD”, Kamal Haasan mostly travelled via chartered flights. However, for the sequel being directed by Nag Ashwin, he has reportedly chosen a more modest mode of travel.

Production house Vyjayanthi Movies shared a picture of the actor travelling on a regular IndiGo flight from Chennai to Hyderabad, seated among common passengers like any other traveler. The gesture quickly grabbed attention online.

Recently, Kamal Haasan had urged the film industry to reduce unnecessary expenses and adopt austerity measures amid the current economic climate. With rising fuel costs, currency pressure, and financial uncertainty, the actor appears to be practicing what he preached.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently advised citizens to avoid non-essential spending and luxury travel for a few months. Sources say Kamal Haasan’s decision was also aimed at reducing the financial burden on the producers.

In “Kalki 2”, Kamal Haasan will reportedly play the primary antagonist opposite Prabhas, while the film’s shoot is currently underway with key scenes being filmed under Nag Ashwin’s direction.
