Akhil Akkineni is taking a completely different route with his upcoming film “Lenin.” After playing mostly urban and stylish characters in films like “Hello” and “Most Eligible Bachelor,” and later appearing as a spy in “Agent,” the actor has now stepped into the world of rustic rural dramas in an attempt to reinvent himself.
The teaser of “Lenin,” released today, introduces Akhil in a rugged avatar set against the backdrop of the Chittoor region.
Sporting a raw look and speaking in the local dialect, Akhil appears to have made a sincere effort to blend into the rural atmosphere.
The teaser opens on a softer note, showcasing the chemistry between Akhil and Bhagyashri Borse, who plays the female lead. She is seen performing in a mythological stage play, while Akhil’s character watches her with admiration from the audience. Their romantic moments and the village backdrop establish the film’s emotional setting.
As the teaser progresses, the tone gradually shifts into action mode. The final moments present Akhil in a fierce and violent avatar, hinting at an intense transformation and mass appeal.
Written and directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, “Lenin” is jointly produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. Music is composed by Thaman.
The film marks Akhil Akkineni’s sixth outing as a lead actor and is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026.
