Malladi praises ‘Master of Suspense Hitchcock’

'Master of Suspense Hitchcock' book

Malladi Venkata Krishnamurthy requires no introduction. Over the last 55 years, the famed Telugu writer has gained a large fan following for his novels, stories, travelogues, and other works. He rarely discusses works of other writers, but the book ‘Master of Suspense Hitchcock’ piqued his interest enough to warrant a lengthy discussion.

Venkata Krishnamurthy has also made a laudatory audio recording on the book.

Pulagam Chinnarayana, a writer, and IRS officer Ravi Padi co-authored the book ‘Master of Suspense Hitchcock,’ which has 62 pieces written by 45 directors, seven authors, and ten journalists.

Malladi Venkata Krishnamurthy commented on ‘Master of Suspense Hitchcock’, saying, “The name of director Alfred Hitchcock is recognizable even to people who have not watched English films. With a few exceptions, Hitchcock’s films are primarily crime, mystery, and suspense dramas. He made his name a brand.”

“Hitchcock once observed that suspense is like a woman; the more you leave it to the imagination, the more suspenseful it becomes. Hitchcock also stated that the picture should only be lengthy enough for the audience to see without needing to use the restroom. The book ‘Master of Suspense Hitchcock’, edited by Pulagam Chinnarayana and Ravi Padi, has information about his films. The initial edition of this book sold out in two weeks, demonstrating Telugu people’s passion for Hitchcock. Congratulations to Pulagam Chinnarayana and Ravi Padi,” he said in the audio.
