Mandakini from Varanasi: Priyanka Chopra unveils a stylish avatar

Director SS Rajamouli is banking on the global appeal of Priyanka Chopra for his ambitious magnum opus, Varanasi. As one of India’s most recognized international stars with a strong presence in Hollywood, Priyanka is expected to add significant worldwide appeal to the film.

She plays the role of Mandakini in “Varanasi.” Her first look, released earlier, featured her in a yellow saree, pointing a gun at villains in what appeared to be an intense action sequence.

The makers have now unveiled another still for international media, presenting Priyanka in a completely different avatar. This time, she appears in a stylish and modern look, hinting at another dimension of her character.

“Varanasi” also marks Priyanka Chopra’s Telugu film debut and her first on-screen collaboration with Mahesh Babu, who plays the lead role of Rudra in the globe-trotting action-adventure thriller.

The film is slated for a theatrical release in April 2027.
