Mani Ratnam thanks Rajamouli for opening the doors

Auteur Mani Ratnam’s most ambitious project ‘Ponniyan Selvan’ has begun its promotions. The film is being made in two parts and the first part titled ‘PS 1’ hits the theaters on September 30 in all five Indian languages.

The film’s first promotional event was held today in Hyderabad. ‘Chola Chola’ song composed by AR Rahman was launched. Dil Raju is distributing the pan-Indian film in Telugu states. Starring Karthi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi in the lead roles, ‘PS 1’ is the next big pan-Indian release.

At the event, Mani Ratnam thanked three persons in particular. Rajamouli, Megastar Chiranjeevi, and Dil Raju were the celebrites the great director mentioned in speech. He said the people would get to know very soon the reason why he thanked Chiranjeevi.

He thanked Rajamouli for paving a way for directors to make movies such as these in two parts. “Rajamouli opened doors with Baahubali. I thank him for paving the way,” Mani Ratnam said.
