Master director Mani Ratnam is directing a period drama titled ‘Ponniyan Selvan’, based on a novel of the same name. The film is divided into two parts. The first part ‘PS-1’ aka ‘Ponniyan Selvan Part One will hit the screens in the first half of 2022.
The makers today announced their release plans along with a poster. “The golden era comes to life! First Part in 2022,” the makers announced.
Featuring an ensemble cast of Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayam Raja, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, ‘PS-1’ is in the last leg of its production. The film’s final schedule will be shot in Hyderabad shortly.
AR Rahman is composing the music. Thota Tharani has created the sets. Ravi Varman cranks the camera. Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions are jointly producing the film.
It is Mani Ratnam’s dream project. The film is the costliest production in his career.
