Mumbai police question Shilpa Shetty for four hours
Popular actress Shilpa Shetty, known for her Bollywood and South Indian film roles as well as her yoga sessions, was questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police on Tuesday in connection with an alleged Rs 60 crore fraud case. The questioning reportedly lasted for over four hours.
According to media reports, the police recorded her statement and collected documents related to her bank transactions. Shilpa Shetty is said to have fully cooperated with the officers during the inquiry.
The 50-year-old actress is among the richest celebrities in Bollywood and lives with her husband and children in a luxurious bungalow in Mumbai. She and her husband Raj Kundra have been facing several cases linked to financial irregularities.
The current case involves allegations that Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra defrauded a businessman named Deepak Kothari between 2015 and 2023 under the pretext of business dealings.
Shilpa Shetty has not made any public statement about the matter yet.
