Nag Ashwin discloses his inspiration for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’

Director Nag Ashwin highlights several folklore and mythical Telugu classics that have always served as sources of inspiration for him. However, what serves as the primary source of inspiration for “Kalki 2898 AD”, his latest film, that is scheduled for June 27 release?
He said he wondered why our own myths cannot be portrayed in a similar manner to Hollywood movies like “Star Wars,” and questioned the dominance of the West in telling such stories. Therefore, he commenced writing with the concept of exploring the hypothetical scenario of the ultimate and conclusive incarnation, Kalki, and his confrontation with malevolent entities.
Nag Ashwin stated that he initiated the process of creating the script five years ago.
