In recent years, Nagarjuna Akkineni has concentrated on acting in rural-themed films and release them for Sankranthi. In reality, Nagarjun Akkineni has only witnessed success in the last decade when his films coincided with the Sankranthi festival season.
He launched “Naa Saami Ranga” in September of last year and completed the picture in approximately four months. The film hit the theaters during Sankranthi 2024 festival. Many people expected him to launch a similar festival film this month, and ready it for Sankranthi 2025. But he abandoned such plans this time.
Instead of taking on lead roles, he is now signing high-profile pan-Indian projects that feature other stars in the lead roles. He plays major roles in those films and receives high pay.
He signed “Coolie,” a film by Lokesh Kangaraj starring Rajinikanth. In the movie, he portrays Simon. Rumors suggest that he will receive approximately Rs 20 crore for this specific role. As a hero, his normal remuneration is Rs 12 crore. Therefore, this is lucrative for him.
He also plays a key role in Dhanush and filmmaker Sekhar Kammula’s “Kubera,” for which he received Rs 10 crore. Nagarjuna also hosts “Bigg Boss Telugu 8.”
It’s no surprise that his films as a hero have been put on hold for the time being.
