Nikhil Siddhartha has put promotions for his upcoming film “Swayambhu” on hold as he remains undecided about its theatrical release date. Initially, he aimed for an early April release, but later felt the film needed more time for completion and promotions.

“Swayambhu” is a period drama featuring Nikhil as a warrior king, while Samyuktha plays a warrior queen. Mounted as a pan-India project, the film requires a strong promotional push across multiple markets. However, the team is waiting to lock a release date before resuming promotions.

Industry buzz suggests that Nikhil is closely watching the release plans of Ram Charan’s Peddi. While the makers of “Peddi” are still targeting an April 30 release, uncertainty persists with speculation about a possible postponement.

With clarity on “Peddi” expected soon, Nikhil is likely to finalize “Swayambhu”’s release date and kickstart promotions again.

Director Bharat Krishnamachari digs into a lesser-known chapter of history by exploring the Sengol’s ancient origins in this film, set in the backdrop of 985 AD. Besides Samyuktha, the film also features Nabha Natesh.
