Peddi: Jagapathi Babu transforms into Appalasoori

Jagapathi Babu Goes Completely Unrecognizable in Peddi

Jagapathi Babu, who earlier played the menacing antagonist in Ram Charan’s blockbuster “Rangasthalam,” is once again set to make a strong impact in Ram Charan’s upcoming film “Peddi.” The makers today unveiled Jagapathi Babu’s first-look poster from the film.

In the poster, Jagapathi Babu is almost unrecognizable, having undergone a striking transformation to portray the character Appalasoori. With disheveled hair, thick glasses, and a torn, weathered shirt, he appears as an ageing man weighed down by years of hardship, pain, and poverty. The rugged look marks a completely new avatar for the veteran actor.

While the makers have revealed the character name and first look, further details about Appalasoori’s role in the story have been kept under wraps.

Ram Charan plays the titular role of Peddi in this sports action drama, which is set against the backdrop of the Uttarandhra region. The film also stars Boman Irani, Shiva Rajkumar, and Divyendu in pivotal roles, with Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, “Peddi” features music by Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman. The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 27, 2026.
